Uniting believers for gospel witness

Jesus prayer for His Church in John 17:20-23 is for a unity that testifies.

Unity testifies as a witness of the glory of Gods saving plan in redemption. Jesus prays in His final hours before He goes back to the Father as His last prayer for a Supernatural unity of all believers in God together as witness to the world.

Christians united in physical visible demonstration of the transforming love of God testifies:

That the Father sent the Son. That the Father and Son are United as One in redeeming mission, Jesus being sent by the Father to save and redeem the world. v 21

That the glory the Father gave the Son, the Son gives to His followers v 22

That the Father loves the Church, His own, just as He loves Jesus. And that they are carrying the mission forward of Gods saving plan of redemption, united in Gods mission, united with God the Father and Son by the Holy Spirit v23

“that they may all be one, just as you Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they may also be in Us so that the world may believe that you have sent Me” John 17:21

The unity of Gods people across racial, political, cultural, socioeconomic and personal interests displays Gods glory as the Savior and Lord of all. Our lack of unity displays a lack of Gods presence, and a lack of our uniting with Him, and a lack of the glory of God revealed in His reconciling gospel in us.
